01 / RESIDENTIAL

Light and shade, done properly.

The two systems that change how a house feels every single day. We design them, install them, and support them for as long as you own the home.

Most homes don't need automation on day one.

They need light and shade done properly. Lutron lighting control and motorized shading change a house every hour of every day, and they are the two things clients never regret. Everything else — music, video, cameras, full automation — layers on top of them cleanly when you want it. Building in the other order is how people end up with an expensive system they do not use.

LIGHTING CONTROL

A house should know what time it is.

Architectural lighting control replaces banks of switches with a small number of keypads that do what you actually want — one button for the whole floor, one for the way you use the kitchen at night, one by the bed that turns the house off. Underneath it, the system is dimming loads to preset levels by time of day, occupancy, and whether the alarm is set.

We are a Lutron Gold dealer and we have won five Lutron Excellence Awards. This is the part of the work we are known for.

01

One-touch simplicity

An entire area, or the whole home, on a single button.

02

No switch clutter

Five gangs replaced by one keypad.

03

Automated exterior lighting

The outside of the house handles itself at dusk.

04

Motion-activated pathways

Halls and stairs light only when someone is there.

05

Efficiency built in

Lights on only when and where they should be.

KEYPADS

The keypad is the only part of a lighting system anyone touches. We engrave it, place it at the natural point of a light switch, and keep the button count low enough that nobody has to think.

MOTORIZED SHADING

Shade is the other half of light.

Shades control glare, heat, privacy and the life of everything the sun falls on. On a timer or a sensor they do it without anyone asking. Done properly, they are architecture — pockets detailed into the ceiling, fabric chosen for the view, every shade in a bank trimmed and aligned to the same line.

EXTERIOR SCREENS

Exterior screens, from the people who make them.

Motorized exterior screens turn a covered patio into a room you can use in July. We install them, and our sister company ShadeCo USA builds them a few feet away in the same building — so the specification, the install and the service all sit under one roof.

AUDIO & VIDEO

You should hear it and never see it.

Speakers detailed into the ceiling, the millwork and the planting beds. Displays that sit flush and disappear when they are off. The equipment lives in a rack in a closet, not in your living room.

The same rule applies to every room we touch: if you can find the technology without looking for it, we have not finished.

DESIGN

The most valuable work happens before anything is installed.

Lighting and low-voltage layouts coordinated with the architectural set
Lighting and low-voltage layouts coordinated with the architectural set

We draw your system alongside your architect, builder and interior designer — keypad locations, fixture types and loads, shade pockets and power, rack space, conduit, device placement and the wiring for the technology that does not exist yet. It is coordinated against the architectural drawings, not sketched on site.

This is the difference between a system that looks like it was designed with the house and one that looks like it was added to it. Getting it right during design costs nothing. Getting it wrong costs a remodel.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Someone has to own the schedule.

On a large residential project we are one of thirty trades, and we are the one that has to be in the walls before the drywall and back on site after the millwork. Our project manager sits in the construction meetings, tracks the schedule against the builder's, and gets our rough-in done in the window it actually has — because missing it does not just delay us, it delays your finish date.

The same person runs procurement, so long-lead equipment is ordered against the real schedule rather than the optimistic one, and coordinates our trim-out around the painters, the millworkers and the flooring crew.

IF AND WHEN YOU WANT MORE

Everything else layers on top.

Lighting and shade first. Then, in whatever order suits the house:

NETWORKING

Hardwire is not old-fashioned. It is why a system still works in year ten.

Our Wi-Fi is enterprise grade and tuned to deliver full throughput in every room. It is still the wrong place to put a hundred devices. Every device you add to a wireless network is a device competing for the same air. We route, dress, terminate and label a wired backbone so the house has capacity it has not needed yet.
